The Cowboy Capital is a touching documentary narrated by the people of Bandera, Texas – The Cowboy Capital of the World.

This captivating documentary explores the vibrant history, unique culture, and enduring values of this small town.

In 2019, when Artur Owczarski, Polish Author does research about Polish Immigration to America, He discovers a little town in Texas named Bandera. This is the starting point to the movie „The Cowboy Capital”. What is it that makes this small town so special. Together with local historian, native Banderian, descendant of the first polish settlers Roy Dugosh and local talented filmmaker, The Art Institute of San Antonio graduate Dakota Wortman they set off to capture soul of Bandera, The Cowboy Capital.

The film is about nostalgia for the times of the Old West. Our characters tell a story about cowboy culture, attachment to life in the Texas countryside, the history of Bandera and uniqueness of living close to nature.

Bandera is a small town in the heart of Texas, which for almost a hundred years has been, a destination for tourists from all over the world, who want to feel like in the Old West, because, as many say, everyone has a bit of a cowboy in them selves.

Bandera, TX. starting point of The Great Western Cattle Trail was founded in 1854 by settlers from Silesia. The inhabitants are proud of their Polish heritage to this day.
